Just a Quick Update

I’ve been working on processing photos and writing blog posts all night. I thought I would be able to at least get through the other two parts of my day at Angkor Wat. Unfortunately the internet connection has gone downhill and I will not be able to upload the photos I wanted to.

I thought I would just give everyone a quick update about what I’ve been up to the last week since I left Angkor Wat, and what I have planned for the next few days.

From Siem Reap I caught a van down to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. While I am sure there are some nice places in the city, it was not a place I wanted to stay for long. Everyone I talked to was very adamant that I was very careful with my belongings and always kept a tight grip on my bag. Apparently there is a lot of crime in this city. Judging by the police armed with semi automatic weapons on every street corner I would say they were right.

The next morning I quickly and safely got out of Phnom Penh and on a van down to the coast, a small town called Sihanoukville. I ended up spending a couple nights at a spot right on the beach. Every morning I would get up and take a swim in the ocean first thing. Then just hang out the rest of the day.

After a couple days there I was after something a little different so I headed out to a tiny island called Koh Tah Kiev and slept in a hammock for a few nights.

Expect more detailed posts on each of these destinations when I am back in civilization and all caught up with things I need to do when I get a decent internet connection.

Tonight I am back in Sihanoukville. I have a ticket on the 9 am boat to Koh Rong Sanloem, an island slightly bigger than Koh Tah Kiev but further off the coast. I will probably be there until next weekend. Keep in mind that these islands have no wifi. I will be lucky if I stay at a place that runs their generators a few hours a day. So I will basically be off grid until next week.

I am traveling the world focusing on adventure and photography.

Merry Christmas from Thailand
